Our Story

Founded in
Compassion

Afrikamma was founded in May 2023 as a purpose-driven company rooted in compassion, transformation, wellbeing, and human connection. Inspired by the legacy of the late parents of our Founder — Asothieamma and Karuna Pillay — the business was created to honour the spirit of resilience, care, and community that shapes so many families across Africa.

The name Afrikamma is inspired by "Amma" — meaning "Mother" — reflecting the universal sound of care recognised across cultures worldwide, symbolising nurturing, humanity, strength, and unconditional love.
